In this past year of uncertainty, closings and new normals, let's take a moment to celebrate a local winery duo on their award! Rockside Winery & Vineyards, located in Lancaster, Ohio, and Wyandotte Winery, an urban winery in Columbus, are both owned by noted winemaker Robin Coolidge and his wife, chief winer Valerie Coolidge. They were recently chosen, by popular vote, as The Dispatch CBUS Top Picks 2020.
The Ohio Wine Ambassador and Madam Ambassador have visited both wineries several times and have always found the wines to be outstanding. Both wineries offer a range from sweet to dry, both red and white. Night Flight at Rockside and Statehouse at Wyandotte, both dry reds, are 2 of our favorites.
The seasonal fruit wines offered at both locations, made from the juice of the fruit, are delightful. Our favorites include Peach, Blueberry and Strawberry at Rockside and Apple and Cranberry at Wyandotte. These annual favorites always sell out quickly once they reach the shelves.
Both wineries offer a small plates food selection as well as individual pizzas. Rockside also offers local IPAs so beer lovers and wine lovers can enjoy the ambiance of the tasting room together. Live music is available at both wineries during the summer and local food trucks make weekly visits, also.
Take time soon to visit one or both locations or place a takeout order!
